GauGAN2 is a free tool for generating imagery from a text prompt. It is a web app that can be used in most popular browsers. The app aims to produce photorealistic images from relatively simple text prompts. Once an image is generated, the user can tweak and modify it to suit.

This service is much like other AI image generation services or apps, like DALL·E, but it offers more options for the customization of images once they are created. Easily create photorealistic images

GauGAN2 features an interface that looks reminiscent of simple image editing applications like Microsoft Paint. However, there is a text box at the top of the interface, which is what makes this different than those applications. In this text box, the user can enter a text prompt and have the service generate photorealistic images.

Descriptive text prompts

The prompts in question might be something like "mountains in front of a starry sky," and GauGAN2 will attempt to interpret the prompt and produce an image that matches. The results can be impressive, but it is also prone to missing the mark by quite some margin. Once the images are created, they can be tweaked using the available tools.

An impressive but clunky tool

GuaGAN2 is undoubtedly an impressive tool, but the user interface is quite clunky, and it can be difficult to get it to produce an image as desired. Still, it provides a number of tools for modifying the result, which is more than many other AI image-generation tools provide.
